Bio
Uggh. I hate these things. Well, what do you want to know?

My name is Ken.
I'm a Democratic Socialist.
I write fairly often.
I've got a cynical sense of humor.
I'm an idealist, though.
I live in a rural cespool, filled to the brim with Nazi pricks.
I'm a hopeless romantic.
I'm very paranoid.
I'm an Agnostic.
I'm Bisexual.
I'm quite open-minded.
I've got many, many quirks.
I'm somewhat old fashioned...
I'm obsessed with Pink Floyd, and everything having to do with them (except for the obsession everyone has with "Dark Side of the Moon"... it's their worst album!).

...Anything else you want to know?

Because I never know what to put on these things, I now have VIEWER ASKED QUESTIONS AND THE RESULTING ANSWERS to enlighten you about me!

[info]kat15lee asks:
What is your favorite artist/band? And why do you like them?

My answer:
My musical taste is arranged in tiers, i.e. levels, so I don't have endless ties for places on my list.

The first tier consists of my three favorite bands. Pink Floyd, The Offspring, and Dimmu Borgir.

I like Pink Floyd because of numerous reasons. One is the variety that they have. They covered so many paths with their fourteen albums that it is amazing. Another thing is the ambition they generally displayed. Ambition is something that is sorely lacking in most modern music, and this point is made acutely visible if you listen to Progressive Rock. Finally, their music is so incredibly cerebal, especially their extended instrumentals. Each and every one of these men were geniuses.

The Offspring is the band I grew up listening to, and because of that, I'll always hold them close. You can relate to so many of their songs as well, or at least I can. They also have the ability to evoke an emotional reaction from me like no other band. While Pink Floyd leaves me in awe, they rarely evoke an emotional reaction on the scale that The Offspring do. They can instantly cheer my mood if the song is playful, or I can instantly identify with the sorrow expressed in their songs, or their disillusionment, etc.

Dimmu Borgir are a lot like Pink Floyd in some ways. They make highly intelligent music, and are incredibly ambitious. They are not content to be just another metal band, they blow away nearly all of their contemporaries. Their music is also incredibly atomspheric, which is quite bizzare for a metal band.

Cradle of Filth was on this list until recently, but their importance to me has diminished. Their newest album, "Thornography", was really good, but wasn't breath-taking, as I had hoped.

[info]intotheaether asks:
1. What colour are you going to dye your hair next?
2. What's your favourite genre of music?
3. What's your favourite television show?

My answer:
1. I have no clue! I'm probably just going to cut it a bit (not terribly much, just an inch or so.) and dye the roots black again.

2. I would have to say Progressive Rock. The more a band tinkers with music/what is expected from them, the more I tend to like them, and Progressive Rock tends to exemplify this the best. Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Yes, and Rush are all prime examples of this.

3. I've got so many! First and foremost, though, is Star Trek in all it's forms. My Dad introduced it to me when I was three, and I've been hooked ever since. Beyond that, I enjoy Robot Chicken, Munchies, Metalocalypse, Wonder Showzen, and Law and Order immensely. Oh, and can't forget about Monty Python's Flying Circus.

[info]hidingtosurvive asks:
1. Do you have a goal in life? If so, what is it?
2. How do you feel about this generation?
3. And...what's your favorite animal?

My answer:
1. I have plenty of goals. One of which is to find love, of course. But the same can be said of so many people. Here are a few that are a bit more unique, and therefore more satisfying to you, the questioner!

- Own a Keytar, Mellotron, Glass Armonica, Theremin, and a Harpischord.
- Write and Direct my own movies.
- Act!
- Be in a band.
- Go to Reed College in Portland, Oregon.
- Move to Portland, Oregon!
- Attend the Ashland Shakespeare Festival as much as possible.
- Become a Criminal Prosecutor, use the public attention that the position receives to springboard into politics, and eventually become President, or it's equivalent. (Not joking one bit.)
- Use presidential position to change the world, and transition the United States into a Democratic Socialist government/economy.
- Retire from politcs to either be a History Professor or a Psychologist.
- Adopt children, maybe have one of my own.
- Be a good father.
- Own a small house overgrown with ivy, with a nice garden in the small backyard.
- Travel the world, especially visiting Moscow, St. Petersburg, Paris, London, Versailles, Tokyo, Kyoto, Rome, Florence, Milan, Venice, Istanbul, and various other locales.
- Learn Russian, Latin, French, and Japanese.

...Satisfactory?

2. This generation is backwards. It is sex-obsessed, close-minded, un-intellectual, and un-ambitious. They can't distinguish truth from lies. It's ridiculous.

I feel so displaced in this generation. I consider myself a student of classicism, and it's so disheartening to know that so few people know what the hell you are talking about. I strive to be a Renascence Man, i.e. prefer the finer things in life, have my hands in nearly every subject of learning and art, etc.

3. My favorite animal would have to be the domesticated cat. I just adore kitties.
